Young Artists in Chamber Music 2026

If you sat in on any rehearsals over the past few months, you might have heard the same four bars repeated fifty times. Someone counting furiously. Someone asking to start again. Slowly, students learning to breathe together, listen together, recover together, and becoming ensembles in the process.

For some performers, this was their first public performance. Standing on stage does strange things, hands feel colder, the heartbeat feels louder, and the page never looks quite like it did at home. Then someone gives a nod, someone breathes in, and the music begins.

What struck me most this year was not the polish but the recovery, how quickly a missed entry became a shared glance, a breath, a way back in together.

Thank you to our coaches and tutors for their patience and guidance throughout, and to the parents and families for every car ride, every practice reminder, and all the quiet support behind the scenes. None of this happens without you.

As our students head towards the Chamber Music Contest, we hope they carry today with them, the teamwork, the nerve, and the joy of making music together.
