NZCT Chamber Music Contest - 2022 Chamber Season Highlights

I’m incredibly proud of these wonderful girls for their dedication and persistence throughout the 2022 chamber music season. As they prepared for the Chamber Music Contest, they showed commitment not only to their own parts, but also to the art of listening, responding, and growing together as an ensemble.

My hope is that, as you listen and watch one another closely, you also carry with you the joyful memories of making music together - the rehearsals, discoveries, and shared moments that shape the chamber music experience.

A top-class performance distinguished by exceptional energy, commitment, and depth of preparation. The ensemble delivered an intensely engaging interpretation, demonstrating a sophisticated understanding of style and structure. Their imaginative and confident use of performance space enriched the musical narrative, allowing ideas to unfold with striking clarity and purpose. Throughout the performance, they displayed strong cohesion, responsive listening, and a shared artistic vision, resulting in a compelling and memorable presentation at both district and regional levels. Their dedication, meticulous preparation, and strong sense of collaboration were evident throughout the season, earning them the honour of representing Wellington at the National Final. It was a rewarding journey marked by musical growth, teamwork, and lasting memories.
