End of Year Recital 2023
What a joyful way to close the year! Our 2023 End of Year Recital brought together students of all ages and levels to share the music they’ve been working on throughout the year. From lively ensemble pieces to expressive solo performances, every student shone in their own unique way.
I wish you could hear all the laughter and smiles that filled the room - the delight of performing, the excitement of supporting one another, and the sheer fun of making music together.
Congratulations to all our pianists for their dedication, focus, and growth over the year. A heartfelt thank you to families and friends for your encouragement and support - it truly makes these performances special. Here’s to a 2024 full of music, learning, and more joyful moments!

Farewell
This year, we said special farewells to some wonderful members of our studio family.
Sneyd Family
Srian and Lila had their final lessons, marking the end of a remarkable 15-year journey together. I still vividly remember the day Srian first walked into my studio - a little boy carrying a huge rainbow-striped crossbody bag. The image of you wearing that same bag through your primary school years, greeting me with your signature big smile, will stay with me forever.
And then there’s Lila. I first met you at the pedestrian crossing outside school, tucked safely in your pram! Over the years, I have treasured the endless laughter, playful banter, and warmth you both brought to lessons. It seems we just clicked from day one - and I still can’t get over the fact that you think I’m less mature than you!
Wishing you both all the very best as you embark on new adventures. Keep shining, and may your love for music continue to grow.
Joyce
It was also time to say goodbye to Joyce, who has been part of the studio for many memorable years. From her earliest lessons to her most recent performances, it has been a joy to witness her growth as a musician - marked by curiosity, dedication, and expressive musicality. Joyce’s achievements include:
2023 NZCT Chamber Music Contest National 3rd place (as Czerny’s Attornys)
2022 NZCT Chamber Music Contest National Finalist (as Schnittke’s Sneakers)
2019 NZCT Chamber Music Contest Regional Finalist (as 3.1 Miles Trio)
2019 New Zealand Music Competition (Category: Age 14–18) 2nd Prize Medal
Our time together was filled with music, laughter, and countless memorable moments. Joyce brought energy, warmth, and joy to every lesson and performance, and I will always treasure that spirit.
As she steps into new adventures, we wish Joyce every success. Keep shining, keep exploring, and continue sharing your wonderful musical spirit with the world.
